The Lucky Whiskers and Wags (LWW) program awards grants to families in need of extraordinary medical care for their pet, so the pet can receive the care they need, but stay in the loving home they already have, and out of the shelter.
Since this fund is limited, please check here for a list of other financial assistance options.
Spay/Neuter Island Pets Program (SNIPP) offers low- or no-cost sterilization for island pets. All qualified animals receive a voucher for spay or neuter at a participating veterinary clinic, thereby helping to keep Nantucket’s pet population in check.
We offer advice and counseling to those who are struggling to keep their pets. We have a dog trainer and cat experts on staff who would be happy to speak with you about the issues you are facing. Dog reactivity, pets and children, litter box issues, fearful behavior, etc.
If you are experiencing violence in your home and need to find shelter, but don't want to leave your pet behind, please contact us. We can assist in ensuring your pets are safe until you are able to care for them again.
The Seniors with Pets Assistance (SPA) Fund makes grants to seniors to cover various one-time or short-term medical and other incidental costs for pets, to help Nantucket residents 65 years of age and older keep their animal companions in their homes. Funded in part by the Michael C. Graham Foundation.
